Bruce Nash has established a reputation as one of the most creative, prolific and successful producers in the entertainment world. He was recognized as a pioneer in the reality television field well before the genre reached the extraordinary level of popularity it enjoys today.
Before getting into television, Nash wrote and produced more than eighty books, many of them on sports. He specialized in reporting the “lost” stories of sports that had been largely forgotten through the passage of time. One of his books, “The Greatest Sports Stories Never Told,” led to the creation of his critically acclaimed, Emmy-nominated series on Fox Sports Net entitled “Amazing Sports Stories.” Nash also produced the ESPN documentary on the life of Fritz Pollard, an overlooked sports hero who broke the color barrier in professional football twenty-seven years before Jackie Robinson did it in baseball. This documentary contributed to Pollard being elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Nash first burst onto the reality TV scene with his family-friendly hit "Before They Were Stars." He quickly followed up this success by breaking all ratings records with his provocative "Breaking the Magician’s Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed" specials. But he is proudest of the critical acclaim he received for producing the historic television event "The First Family's Holiday Gift to America: A Personal Tour of the White House," hosted by President and Mrs. Clinton. Nash is also the creator of “Modern Marvels," one of cable television's longest-running series with more than 460 one-hour episodes.
Nash's most current television projects include three truTV series: “Most Shocking,” “Most Daring” and “Crisis Point”; and “World’s Most Amazing Videos” for Spike TV. Premiering this fall is “Magic’s Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed,” a 13-hour series for MyNetworkTV that revives the blockbuster Fox franchise. Slated to debut in early 2009 is “Totally Awesome Videos” for Discovery. Nash also has several high concept TV movies in development at various networks.
Previous Nash hits include “For Love or Money,” “Meet My Folks,” “Who Wants To Marry My Dad?” “Who Wants To Be A Superhero?“ “Outback Jack” and “Wanna Come In?” But his successful formula for creating and producing hit shows is not limited to the U.S. Nash is an international brand. His shows and formats have sold throughout the world for many years and are timeless in their appeal.
Nash is now making the successful transition from television to film, with major announcements of theatrical projects from top studios. These high-profile film projects include a Katherine Heigl action-comedy at Fox; “Time of Their Lives” (with Ryan Reynolds attached to star and co-produce); "The Fritz Pollard Story" (with Don Cheadle co-producing and “The Great Debaters” Nate Parker attached to star); "To Wally Ward," a baseball-themed drama written by Angelo Pizzo ("Hoosiers" and "Rudy"); and “When Good Pets Go Bad” for MGM (inspired by Nash’s highly rated TV reality specials).
